Industry Veteran Micheal Foulds To Retire

London, ON – ZucoraHome announced this week that their long-time sales executive, Michael Foulds, will retire at the end of June following 63 years of service to the industry.  “I have been very fortunate to have been able to spend so many years serving retailers throughout the home furnishings industry,” said Foulds. “Many of the people that I’ve had the pleasure of working with have become such great friends.”

Originating from Paris, Ontario, Foulds began his sales career in 1956 with his first position as a sales agent for Pride of Paris Drapery Fabrics (formerly Holland Traders) selling drapery fabric and hardware to customers in the Maritimes, Newfoundland, Ontario, Quebec, and Saskatchewan.

In 1963 Foulds joined Sklar Furniture Company (later renamed as Sklar-Peppler) with a move to London, Ontario where he covered southwestern Ontario. He represented Sklar-Pepplar for 47 years during which time he accepted the position of Export Manager for Sklar-Peppler and opened accounts in Bolivia, Middle East, and Jordan.  “I was able to see much of the world by having the pleasure of visiting our accounts in Iceland, Japan, and Puerto Rico,” said Foulds.

Foulds increased his representation with various product lines that included Leather Trend, Eurodesign, Crawford and ZucoraHome (formerly Magi Seal). In 2010, Foulds decided to exclusively represent ZucoraHome where he has assisted the company with building its business and supporting several retail partnerships throughout Ontario.

“Mike is a true people-person,” said Brad Geddes, president and CEO of ZucoraHome. “Not only is he a real gentleman, but Mike possesses incredible integrity, positive enthusiasm and boundless energy,” said Geddes.  “I’ve always admired Mike for his willingness to share his expertise. He has been a great mentor for me personally and for so many in our industry,” said Geddes. “I know his professional and wise counsel will be missed!”

In his earlier years, Foulds enjoyed riding his motorcycle, tennis and downhill skiing. He later discovered golf and gardening which continue to contribute to his active lifestyle.

Foulds will be enjoying his well-deserved retirement by spending time with his wife Sandra, and the families of his sons’ Grant and Jason, as well as his three grandchildren; Mackenzie, Weston, and William.

ZucoraHome will be celebrating Foulds’ career with a reception for family, friends and business associates at the London Hunt and Country Club, London, Ontario on June 20, 2019.
